The material they used is very nice: maroon herringbone wool. I wonder if you could extend that collar up into a hood... Hmm

Hil's Fabulous Skirt

Has it really been 2 weeks since the last post? I'm behind and have lots of stuff I need to post.
I've been working hard on cutting and basting a zillion sewing projects and will post them as soon as they are officially done. It seems like such a long time since I posted something that I have created.
I spotted this on the front page of Burdastyle this morning. I always like her creations, and thought I'd post this one.

I'm drooling over those shoes: blush pink+kitten heels. Need I say more??

Finally, something I really love.
I'm definitely going to get this pattern.
I can see this dress with all kinds of variations and fabrics.

I have never put an invisible zipper into a garment, however it's never too soon to learn.

I like the fabric that they used for this sample dress.

I *love* this outfit. I'm not sure if that is a dress or a skirt under that gorgeous jacket, but I really like it esp. the tiers.

This is the latest pattern--just posted--on Burdastyle.com.
It's in a pdf format, and costs $4.00.
I don't usually purchase the patterns for sale (even though they are cheap.{I'll probably get more of them in the future.}), but I really, really like this one.
I'm getting that violent itch to sew, I need to calm down :D
I run into problems when I want it to be done too fast.
The sample/model of this pattern is made up in silk--so nice.

I haven't done much in the way of piping, and have never done covered buttons--I do adore them so I'm going to have to learn.

This would make a wonderful dress coat if you lengthened the sleeves a little.

You could make the skirt whatever length you wanted too.
